Andreas Scheutz, PhD
Director, Research and Innovation at Uppsala County Council (Region Uppsala)
Region Uppsala is responsible for providing healthcare, public transport, culture and regional development in Uppsala county. Andreas’ role is to coordinate and strengthen clinical research and innovation activities in the healthcare domains of Region Uppsala and to support business development including the innovation support system in the county, together with external partners, like universities, municipalities and industry to accomplish the vision and goals of the Regional Development Strategy.
Andreas has a master’s degree in Engineering Physics and a PhD in Physical Chemistry from Lund University. After a post doc at the Department of Biochemistry, Oxford University he worked nearly 10 years in the biotech industry, followed by 7 years as Counsellor at the Swedish Embassy in India, facilitating inter-governmental relations and collaboration in the areas of research, innovation and higher education between the two countries. Since August 2017 he is at Region Uppsala.
