My work at Uppsala BIO:

I work with BIO-X, Industrial Partnerships and Swelife, as well as with events and other network activities. During my almost five years at Uppsala BIO, I have managed BIO-X calls and coached early innovation projects in our programmes. In the Industrial Partnerships, I help principal investigators to package and present their projects in a way that industry understands and appreciates.

At Swelife, I work with drawing up and coordinating Calls for Project Proposals. I work on a national level, coordinating hands-on support for projects in all regions of Sweden. Other tasks include improving the call application forms, the assessment process and expert panels, all done together with Vinnova.

“I am passionate about solving problems, meeting people and satisfying my curiosity.”

Why I work at Uppsala BIO:

I believe I can make a difference for researchers wanting to commercialise their ideas within life science. With my background in academic research as well as the pharmaceutical industry, I believe I understand both where they come from and where they are heading. Thanks to Uppsala BIO’s programmes, networks and ability to influence and work with the national infrastructure, I believe I have a good chance of realising this goal.

I am passionate about:

Solving problems, meeting people and satisfying my curiosity.

My education and previous work experience:

PhD in Immunology at Stockholm University, three years at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, Melbourne, one-year post-doc at the Karolinska Institute, 13 years preclinical research at AstraZeneca R&D Södertälje (bioscience, in vivo models, team-leader, project management, small and large molecules, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, analgesia), popular science writing, certified member of Styrelseakademien (Sweden’s leading forum for professional development of company board members and owners).
