Uppsala University Hospital is one of Sweden’s largest hospitals with 8000 employees and 1100 beds. AroCell develops and commercializes innovative biomarkers for cell growth within the field of diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic applications. The initial project is an ELISA assay based on a universal tumor marker. The product will be licensed to diagnostic companies for further adaptation to clinical routine laboratories, and later the methodology will be applied in point of care testing.

Our speciality is clinical conduct of hospital-based early phase clinical trials (phase 0/I-IIa) in patients and healthy volunteers in a dedicated 12-bed research clinic at the Akademiska University Hospital in Uppsala combined with two additional SMO sites in Uppsala and Linköping for phase II/III studies. The research clinic is approved by the Medical Products Agency for First-in-Human studies.

Redhot diagnostics AB offers a unique business structure for academic researchers and academically risen R&D companies, which includes development, marketing and sales through a worldwide distribution network. Redhot´s business idea is to start a company with the researcher or alternatively become co-owner of their R&D company. Redhot will, together with the research partner maintain and develop the IPR in this company. The IPR is out-licensed to redhot for production and sales. The development of the product prototype to a finished kit is done in redhot. Profits from the sales are shared with the R&D company according to a license agreement.
