Increased public funding for projects and SMEs

Uppsala BIO-led calls have financed many regional and national initiatives and the BIO-X methodology lives on in Testa Center!

Project managers from Uppsala BIO led national calls from Swelife and MedTech4Health during 2015–2017. In cooperation with UU Innovation, UIC and SLU Holding, Uppsala BIO also acted as regional coordinator in the 2014–2017 calls. Manyprojects and SMEs have applied for support, of which a substantial numberare from Uppsala County. The national BIO-X program was concluded in 2017 with the completion of the final portfolios in, among other calls, ICT healthcare.

Within the framework of the national dissemination of BIO-X, Uppsala BIO has, in addition to providing coaching activities, made various awards of MSEK 30. In total, Uppsala BIO distributed over MSEK 70 to BIO-X projects, in addition to the expert support received by hundreds of project owners. Furthermore, the BIO-X methodology is currently used by Uppsala BIO in various projects, such as the implementation of Testa Center.
