Meet our partner Manpower
Expertise in life science competence
Uppsala BIO’s most recent partner Manpower offers support in recruitment, consultancy and matchmaking for the long-term unemployed.
Ghazaleh Köse, Consultant Manager ManpowerGroup, has been with Manpower since 2015 and with her background as a process operator in the life sciences, she is especially attuned to the importance of production in such a vital part of Uppsala’s industrial base. Ghazaleh became interested in the work at Manpower due largely to her extensive experience and desire to help people find their way back to working life. Today she and two colleagues lead the consultancy side of both Manpower’s and Experis’ offices in Uppsala, which also work with recruitment on all levels, from administrative staff to highly-skilled specialists.
An active role in shaping the future of life science competence
When Ghazaleh started out at RADI Medical Systems (later bought by St Jude Medical and subsequently moved to the US and Costa Rica) in 2003, life science companies were readier to invest in educating relatively inexperienced employees. Today the business looks different. Now companies want talent that is educated, trained and ready to start ‘out of the gate’. This new development, plus Ghazaleh’s current position at Manpower, led to the collaboration with Eva Nicklasson at STUNS in creating a new tailor-made education to meet the life science industry’s skills needs within production.
Personal networks important
Thanks to its location, the majority of Manpower Uppsala’s clientele is found in the life science sector, ranging from SMEs to large multinational companies and the public sector. Unemployment is a relatively small problem in Uppsala, which boasts the lowest jobless rate of all Swedish counties. Here personal networks are of great importance and many employees are headhunted. It is therefore vital for Ghazaleh to maintain and grow her own and Manpower’s networks and to stay on top of current developments. This is why Manpower has recently joined Uppsala BIO as one of our partners.
“Uppsala’s life science network is full of possibilities and competence. We want to help make it even stronger so that our region’s companies will stay and grow here”.
